Gas Grenades are a piece of equipment that release a cloud of Chlorobenzylidene malonitrile, better known as CS Gas or Tear Gas. It causes all unprotected individuals to be unable to fight by causing tearing in the eyes and irritation in the mucus membranes. As opposed to other grenades, it can't harm any individual or detonate explosives, making it useful in missions where explosives are around the building.

This grenade emits Chlorobenzylidene malonitrile, or CS. CS is a chemical agent which causes tearing in the eyes and irritation of the mucus membranes. Commonly known as Tear gas, this agent causes people to lose visual acuity and have difficulty breathing. While under the influence of tear gas, suspects are at a significant disadvantage when encountering officers.
By holding the attack button, the player will keep the grenade primed. The longer the button is held, the farther the grenade will be thrown, although there is a maximum distance. Although the player pulls the pin, the grenade will not go off until 1.5 seconds after it has been thrown.
Upon releasing the attack button, the grenade will be thrown.
The gas cloud affects any unprotected target in a 800 unit radius (11 meters/36 feet).
Effect on Players Edit
The gas effect lasts for 11.5 seconds (22 Seconds ) during which the player is unable to fire their weapon and their vision is blurred. Other players will be able to arrest the player (if in a multiplayer game mode that permits this, such as Barricaded Suspects).
In singleplayer and co-op, the player may fire their weapon while affected by a flashbang, and cannot do so in competitive modes.
Effect on AI Edit
Flashbangs last for 11.5 seconds (22 seconds ) and stun the suspect with a morale modification of 0.35 (0.2 ). While the suspect is stunned, they may wander about randomly to try and get away from the player.
Gas grenades have no effects on AI-controlled officers, regardless of what equipment they are using.
