Sisters of Mercy Hostel is the second mission in SWAT 4: The Stetchkov Syndicate and the sixth mission in SWAT: Elite Force. The SWAT team is tasked with dealing with a failed armed robbery that turned into a barricaded suspects situation. Heavily armed gunmen first attempted to rob a post office but were foiled and forced to flee. They then fled into the Our Sisters of Mercy Halfway House and a number of the orignal occupants went missing as the result. Nurses and nuns that fled from the scene are cautioning the SWAT to take great care since the missing senior residents, especially Lionel Macarthur, are confused and have not taken their regular medication.
Mission Briefing[]
Let me have your attention team. About two hours ago a group of armed men attempted to rob the post office at the corner of Watts and Lonsdale. They were confronted by an armed security guard and when he opened fire, they ran.
The guard called 911 and a nearby patrol car responded, spotting the suspects on foot on Newbury St. Seems their getaway driver panicked and drove off without them. When the officer ordered them to surrender they opened fire and retreated into a halfway house, Our Sisters of Mercy.
The halfway house provides temporary accommodation for older men, often just out of prison or recently released from mental care. A few of the residents fled once the gunmen entered, but one of the sisters who runs the house says at least six people are unaccounted for. That means any civilians inside may be confused, scared and uncooperative. Check your targets carefully.
The suspects appear well armed but disorganized. The security guard reported seeing at least five individuals carrying automatic rifles and shotguns, and says they may have been wearing body armor. The word on the street is that it's the Stetchkov clan who've provided the guns, but they don't normally handle firearms.
The police negotiator has been trying to communicate with the suspects, but as yet they haven't responded. There's been some sporadic gunfire from within the building, which is why we're going in.

Entries and Snipers[]
There are two entries on this map. One entry is the front door at side 1 which will lead into the cluttered reception area. The other entry is the delivery entrance at side 4 which will lead into a clear long hallway with mutiple doors on both sides.
There are two snipers available in this mission. Sierra 1 is covering one of the bedrooms on second floor at side 1 and Sierra 2 is covering a corridor on second floor at side 4.
Map Layout[]
The intel provided on this map is very accurate in describing the layout of the map, although clutters like furniture, privacy screens and cubicle dividers are not mentioned in the intel.
Our Sisters Of Mercy Halfway House is a two story building that once was a small brewery built in the 1920s and later donated to a local convent in 1960s. It provides a temporary shelter for homeless and elderly people who have just been released from prison or mental institution. The first floor consist of several rooms for residents of the halfway house such as a living room on side 1, a dining room connected to a kitchen on side 3 and the chapel. There is also a reception area along with a office located on the corner of side 1 and 2. This building has two entrances: the main entrance at side 1 leads straight into reception and the delivery entrance at side 4. The reception is rather simple as it contains one desk and several chairs and sofas. The entrances to chapel and living room are also placed here. Next to the reception is an office for nuns who operate the halfway house. The living room contains simple facilities for residents such as a TV with a DVD player, bookshelves and a billiard table. Next to the living room is a corridor that connects the living room, the kitchen, the dining room and the chapel. It also contains the delivery entrance. In the dining room, for residents and homeless civilians, there are several tables, a window to receive meals and countertops on which are tables, cutlery, and spices. The dining room is also connected with the kitchen and contains stairs to the second floor. The kitchen contains several countertops, gas cookers, fridges, sinks and shelves filled with various products. There is also a cold room in the kitchen. The chapel is rather big. It contains benches for the residents and an altar in the back as well as shelves filled with Bibles and a projector for interactive Holy Mass. The chapel is filled with many figures of Holy Mary and other religious ornaments, along with stained glass windows. The chapel also has stairs that lead to the storage on the second floor. The second floor consists mainly of bedrooms. The biggest one contains many types beds such as bunk beds, normal beds and plain mattresses on the ground. Apparently it is used by the homeless as well as the residents. The other two bedrooms are smaller but they are also more furnished. They contain usually two or three beds and have more furniture like wardrobes, privacy screens, shelves with medications and even TVs. On this floor there is also a bath and shower room.
Tactical Approach[]
Suspects on this map are heavily armed with assault rifles, combat shotguns and M249 SAW Light Machine Guns and are wearing body armors. They are not equipped with gas masks, however.
This map can be turned linear if all possible first floor routes between the chapel and the delivery entrance hallway are wedged. Once the wedges are in place, follow the hallways and the stairs and clear the rooms one at a time until the other end is reached. CS Gas is particularly effective given the amount of clutters in the bedrooms.
When clearing the dining room, be aware that there may be a suspect camping at the landing in the linked stairs which have a good view of the rooms below.
Changes in Elite Force[]
- Suspects' morale have been significantly lowered.
- The suspects now carry AKM Assault Rifles, AK-74 Assault Rifles, MP5A4 SMG, UMP SMG, Browning Hi-Power pistols and Desert Eagle pistols in addition to their default loadouts. Beretta 92 pistols have been removed as well.
- The elderly residents and Lionel Macarthur have a 70% chance to suffer cardiac arrest if a Taser or Cobra Stun Gun is used.
- All civilians' morale have been raised so that they all have a good chance to resist compliance. The elder residents of the half house will be almost as stubborn as Lionel Macarthur.
- This mission unlocks the Pepper-ball Gun and the Suppressed Browning Hi-Power pistol instead of the Grenade Launcher.
Trivia[]
- This mission was supposed to feature homeless civilians apart from elderly residents and nurses judging from the dialogues found in the game files, but for some reason they will never appear.
